Help Center Progress

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been working on the Help Center, to bring it up to date with the latest release of the tools. In particular, the articles on Installation/Activation, Doors+Windows, and Coverings have been completed.

Doors+Windows Interim Released

A number of bugs have been fixed in the Cadimage Doors+Windows tool, and also there have been some improvements. The What’s New article in the Help Center outlines some f the improvements. Worth mentioning here are the new Sketch Design mode for the Cadimage Door, the improved dimensioning for windows in the Cadimage Doors+Windows Schedule, and the new arrow types are now working also for double-hung windows.

Following a request from a Cadimage Doors+Windows user, we’ve modified the Sketch Design material controls in the Cadimage Window library part so that they can be used at any time to update all the materials in current use by the window.

Coverings Interim Released

Over the past few months we’ve had a number of requests to plug our presets technology into the Cadimage Coverings library parts. Finally we’ve got that done. It’s taken a bit more work than we expected, as it required re-organizing the Wall Covering Settings dialog. We acknowledge that the changes might take a while to get familiar with, but the improved efficiency of use should more than offset any initial frustrations. The changes have been thoroughly documented in the Help Center, in a new Cadimage Coverings > What’s New? article. I would recommend that you read that article before installing the new interim release.

Professional Development

Last week Glen attended a short course on Object Orientated Analysis and Design with UML (we didn’t like to ask him what the letters UML might stand for).

He returned to the office full of new ideas. No doubt we’ll begin to see the benefits over the next few months in the form of increasingly stable and reliable add-ons.
