Red Things under your Roofs?

Something that will occasionally happen in ArchiCAD 15 is the appearance of big pink/red translucent ‘things’ in 3D beneath your roofs.

We’re not sure how people are turning it on accidentaly, as it doesn’t seem to happen for any of us unless we actually go and change the setting responsible, but it ishappening on a seemingly random basis out there, in the wild.

Anyway, to get rid of the pink things, go to your View menu, On-Screen view Options, and click ‘Trimming Bodies’ down at the bottom, and your model will change back to normal.

I have the same problem, but there is no “trimming bodies” option visible in the On-Screen view options pull-down menu.

Are you using ArchiCAD 15? It’s a new feature, so if you’e migrated a Work Environment in from v14 (or earlier), then it may just be missing from your menu.
Try switching to the standard 15 wrk environment and see if it turns up.

i’ll tell you how people are turning it on accidently – because the stupid button is right next to solid elements operations under the ‘design’ tab > ‘connect’ (also a dumb place for solid element by the way)

took me until i found this blog to get rid of ‘em

thanks though…

This problem drove me crazy six months ago. As it happened again today, I thought “hmm, why not check the web!?”.
Thanks!

Btw. they haven’t moved the button in ArchiCad 16.
