When you are using ArchiCAD to provide accurate shadows you need to tell ArchiCAD where you are! Do this in the Sun Settings. Select the Camera Tool and hit Sun…, click on Set City… You now need the Longitude & Latitude for your project. There are many ways to get this information; the most accurate would be your local Observatory, or GPS co-ordinates. You can also use a website like iTouchMap.com. Simply type the Address of your Project and the co-ordinates will be shown.

Transfer the Degrees & Minutes conversion figures into the Latitude and Longitude boxes, plus the Time Zone factor, hit Add then OK.

NOTE: ‘-’ figures are South & West, ‘+’ figures are North & East.

sure would be nice if ArchiCAD would add seconds!

Seconds has been added in AC16 :)
Also, you have a single text box for hours/minutes/seconds for both longitude and latitude. So copy/pasting is much easier – with the new Project Locations dialogue.
