A quick way to move elements on the screen is to nudge them. Select one or more placed elements, and then while holding down your Shift key, simply use your arrow keys (Left/Right/Up/Down) to move the object in the chosen direction. The distance the object/s move is set in the Girds & Backgrounds dialog box
One of the questions I get asked frequently while training people and on the support desk is how to turn off the Editing Plane and how to change the Grid display. These are both quite simple things to rectify. To turn off the Editing Plane display, go to the View Menu and simply click on

To change the background colour of your Work Environment go to View> Grid & Editing Plane Options > Grids and Backgrounds, double click on the existing background colour and chose a new one, click OK, then OK again.

White fills appearing in plan as grey are controlled via the Options> Work Environment> On Screen Options and uncheck the Automatic Pen Colour Visibility Adjustment for Model Views.

If you want to change the background color of the 3D Window, go to View > 3D View Mode > 3D Window Settings. Double-click the color field to choose another color from the pop-up palette.
