Following on from yesterdays tip regarding aligning textures this methodology also applies where the material is being used as a cover-fill. The Alignment point chosen for the material in 3D is also the Alignment point for the Cover Fill in Plan.
Materials allow for surfaces to easily display the surface construction of elements. Key to this is the correct mapping or alignment of the texture in 3D. Select the elements with the same material and choose Design > Align 3d Texture typically Set Origin is all thats required.
If you have duplicated a material in the Material Settings (Options>Element Attributes>Materials…) and have changed for example its color, make sure you also change the rendering settings. Therefore click on the Button under Duplicate… select LightWorks Rendering Engine and click on the Button Match with Internal Engine. Otherwise you will miss the changed color in
